I love creating pretty tablescapes so I am totally crushing on these adorable denim placemats made by Sam who blogs at Creatively Sam’s. There’s so much to love about them: there’s a little pocket just right for holding flatware, a handy place to tuck away the napkin and perfectly frayed edges for a nice, casual finish to the edges.
If you have some old jeans lying around that you never wear, purchase a yard of denim and you’ve got all the ingredients you’ll need for these denim placemats.
Sam has written a detailed tutorial sharing how she made these, down to her super easy technique for fraying the edges.
In addition to casual dining inside, these denim placemats would be perfect for a picnic or cookout!
You’ll find the tutorial for these cute denim placemats at Creatively Sam’s here: Denim Placemats for a Casual Table Setting
Pssst: I’m including this project in the No-Sew category because the napkin loop and pocket could possibly be attached with a fabric glue like Fabri-Tac which is super strong.
Susan,
Thank you so much for featuring my Denim Place Mats. I’m so glad you like them, and they are so easy to make.
Happy Creating everyone!
Thanks, Sam for sharing them! I know there will be lots of denim lovers making these!
I love to enjoy each day as it comes and not rush things. However, I can’t wait for summer holidays and the picnic season to make these. Thanks Sam!!
Thank you, Sandra! I’m so glad you like them. They ‘guys’ in my home actually liked them, too. 😉
This is so cute, I need to make these for our camper. Love the idea of using fabric glue, too.
