A Denim Coat for Man’s Best Friend

By Susan

Cold weather is upon us and our furbabies aren’t always interested in going out in the freezing cold to take care of business. Who could blame them when it’s so nice and warm inside.

When Chad at Instructables ran into this problem with his adorable boxer, Dottie, he came up with a pretty stylish solution. He made Dottie her own little jacket with recycled denim, lining it with a soft warm scarf he no longer needed.  It even included a pocket for a treat or two, a dog gets hungry on walks, ya know? 😉

Now Dottie can stay warm and cozy during her trips outside this winter in her new denim jacket. I think this is one tutorial worth howling about!  Hee, hee…sorry, couldn’t resist!

Denim Doggie Coat

Chad has written a step-by-step tutorial sharing how he made Dottie’s denim coat. His tutorial, which includes a lot more pictures of the process, as well as patterns he drew up for the coat, can be found here: Make a Denim Doggie Coat

This is too cute! We had a 135lb rottweiler and I doubt I could have made one big enough for him.

🙂 That might require 2 pairs of jeans. 🙂
