The pockets on old jeans are awesome for repurposing. In fact, I think they may be my favorite part to reuse, mainly because they add so much functionality and whimsy to a recycled denim project.
Because of the way pockets are usually top-stitched/sewn into jeans, you can remove them and immediately put them to work for another project without having to hem them and without having to worry about raw, fraying edges.
I love this cute hanging wall storage project designed by Kendra at Fiskars Craft. It employs the use of several pockets pulled from old jeans. The pockets vary in size which make this storage system work that much better.
Such a clever idea–repurposing the pockets from old jeans to create a hanging craft organizer that’s great for storing pens, markers, scissors and other crafting supplies.
