Crazy Quilt Placemats Made from Repurposed Jeans

By Susan

Deborah, who creates and blogs at Art Threads, had a big stack of jeans ready to be recycled into something awesome. She had been working on turning them into crazy quilt squares when one thing led to another and they became cute denim placemats in a fun crazy quilt design.

One of the pairs of jeans Deborah used had a pretty eyelet fabric overlay and she was able to incorporate it into her placemat design. Really adds so much to the design, doesn’t it? If your old jeans don’t have that type eyelet overlay, you should be able to add it with any eyelet fabric.

Deborah has written an excellent tutorial explaining how she made her placemats, including the fabric she used for the backing. She also has a link in her placemat tutorial post to a post she wrote explaining how to sew crazy quilt squares together. So everything you need to know to make these cute crazy quilt designed placemats can be found at Deborah’s blog here: Crazy Quilt Placemats Made from Repurposed Jeans
