When recycling denim fabric from jeans, skirts, shirts, you may not always use the pockets in the new project your working on. Save them anyway because they often work great for other sewing or craft projects. I bet I’m singing to the choir, huh? Chances are if you’re repurposing old jeans and such for recycling, you’re saving those pockets, too.
I love how The Country Farm Home recycled a denim pocket when she made a colorful apron for spring. She also incorporated a small patch of denim in the cute design she added to her apron. Denim pockets are especially great for work or craft aprons, coming in handy when we need a place to squirrel away some wire cutters or even our cell phone. I listen to Audible books while I sew, craft of build so I love having pockets in the clothes I’m wearing to hold my phone where I’ve downloaded the books.
