So excited to share a denim project today that makes use of all those small scraps we so often have left over when we’re working on a denim project. Pam, the talented and creative genius behind the fabulous blog, Threading My Way, makes some of the cutest pillows you’ve ever seen, only in the land of down under where Pam lives, they call them cushions. Whatever you want to call them, I adore this darling pillow she made using bits of denim fabric recycled from a pair of jeans and some pretty fabric from a cotton dress.
Don’t you love the blue denim fabric with the darker blue, light blue, browns and creams in the coordinating fabric? I was thinking how perfect this pillow would be for fall. It would also be great as a tooth fairy pillow! It has the perfect pocket for stowing away a tooth with hopes of finding some change inside the next morning. I wonder if the tooth fairy visits sleeping children who have lost a tooth in Australia? Ummm, anyone know?
Pam has written an excellent tutorial with lots of great pictures detailing exactly how she made her recycled denim cushion that includes a pocket for hiding away special treasures. You’ll find it at her blog here: Make a Denim Cushion or Pillow From Recycled Jeans
Be sure to check out Pam’s other projects and tutorials. I saw some wonderful ones while visiting her blog!
Yes, the tooth fairy visits Australian kids. Sometimes she finds teeth left in tooth fairy pillows, but often she finds them left in a glass of water for her to collect. Thanks so much for featuring my jeans cushion / pillow and for your kind words.
