I have the cutest project to share with you today! This one just makes you want to say Awww! At least it did me!
When you have young ones who are always outgrowing their jeans, often long before they are even worn out, wouldn’t it be nice to have a way to make those jeans last just a little while longer.
Destri who blogs at the blog, The Mother Huddle is a wonderfully creative seamstress and she came up with the absolute cutest, most adorable way to get some additional wearing time out of those too-short jeans. She dressed them up with darling ruffles along the bottom! Is this not the cutest?!
Destri asks in her tutorial if a 32-year-old would look crazy wearing ruffles on her jeans. Hey, I’m a lot older and after seeing these, it’s got my wheels turning! Do we ever get too old for ruffles? I surely hope not! Everyone could use a few ruffles in their life, don’t cha think? 🙂
You’ll find a beautifully photographed and detailed tutorial sharing how to add snazzy ruffles to a pair of jeans at Destri’s blog here: Add Ruffled Cuffs To Blue Jeans
What an adorable idea! Very clever and honestly, very practical. Like you, I’m a lot older than Destri but being that I don’t have any little girls in my life at the moment, I immediately thought of using this same idea for myself (even though I haven’t outgrown my jeans in a long while … well, that way anyway.) ;o)
Thanks for sharing this cute and practical solution.
