Sookie had a pair of denim jeans she was no longer wearing. They weren’t in the greatest shape, so unfortunately they weren’t really suitable for donating. The fabric was nice and soft from years of wear. I love that about old jeans, how they can feel buttery soft after years of wash and wear.
Rather than toss out her old jeans, Sookie decided to turn them into something useful for her home and that something turned out to be a fun pillow. Soft denim is perfect for making into pillows!
You’ll notice in the picture below, Sookie gave the edges of her pillow a frayed design. She shares the easy way to creating a frayed edge on denim fabric in her tutorial.
She also used a second fabric for the other side of her pillow. Make your pillow out of all denim or with a coordinating fabric–either way looks great!
Tip: If you don’t have any old jeans in your closet just waiting to be turned into something useful, check out your local thrift store. Jeans can normally be found in thrift store for just a few dollars.
