Ali blogs with Amy at the blog, Salute to Cute and she loves creating denim cut-offs from jeans she is no longer wearing. This past summer, after making several pairs of denim cut-off shorts, she ended up with a big stack of jean pants legs. Denim is so durable and such a great fabric to recycle, Ali saved the legs knowing they would come in handy for a future project.
Ali turned some of her recycled jeans into adorable bows! She bleached some of the denim fabric so she could create bows in various shades of blue. Pulling from her stash of craft supplies, she embellished some of the bows with little pearl beads.
I love the striped and polka-dot bows…so cute! When attached or hot glued to clips, these adorable bows can be worn in the hair. Ali shows them being used that way in the tutorial she created sharing how easy it is to make bows from recycled denim. In addition to being worn in the hair, these cute bows would also be great as a decorative touch for a dress or shirt. The ways they could be used are endless.

Bleaching the jeans is such a great idea. Ali hit a homerun with this project!
Thanks, Sandra! I love that idea, too! Happy New Year to you!
So many cute projects on this blog, but did you know you have the bows listed under the no sew projects and you need a sewing machine? 🙂
Thanks, Erika! Lots of denim inspiration in one place. 🙂
Erika, I don’t see the hair bows under the No-Sew category when I click on No-Sew. Could you send me a little screen shot so I can see what you’re seeing. Hope I don’t have a little glitch. My email is contactdenimdoover@gmail.com
Thanks!
