Let’s talk denim purses and denim totes! They are definitely a popular item to make from recycled denim, and usually that denim is an old pair of jeans that are no longer in style or showing some serious wear. But not this denim project!
Cyndee, the blogger behind the blog, Restyled Junk, had another idea. While out yard sailing, she came across a really cute skirt that included a nice wide denim belt. Cyndee decided to turn the skirt into a denim tote and she cleverly incorporated the belt right into her design. Isn’t it fabulous?! I love how the pockets fit into the design, too–great place to stash the car key or cell phone.
Cyndees written an excellent tutorial and you’ll find all the details for transforming a skirt into a cute denim purse or tote here: Make a Denim Purse or Tote Bag By Recycling a Denim Skirt
The belt totally makes this purse. Thanks for sharing such a great project.
I love it, too! I’m not sure I would have thought of leaving the belt in place. 🙂 Thanks, Sabrina!
