I’ve featured lots of bags and purse designs here on Denim Do Over so I’m always amazed when a new bag comes along that’s a completely different look or design. Using denim recycled from jeans her children had outgrown, Laura the talented blogger and seamstress at Laurmelas House, made this wonderful denim bag using a pattern as her guide while adding her own special touches and ideas. I absolutely love how it turned out.
One of the unique features of this bag is it incorporates something called pet screen fabric. Are you familiar with that type of fabric? I had not heard of it but apparently it’s a fabric that can stand up to wear and tear from our furry friends. How have I missed knowing about this all these years?
You know this is one durable bag that’s going to hold up to lots of use and last for many years since it’s constructed of denim fabric and screening.
Love the pocket Laura included and the unique zipper fob. It’s details like these that make this recycled denim project over-the-top fabulous!
Laura has written an excellent tutorial with lots of detailed photos sharing how she made her bag and you’ll find it at her blog here: Make a Denim Bag With Recycled Jean
