So excited to share a great recycled jean project with you today! Carol, the talented blogger behind the blog, Fun Threads Designs, loves to go hiking with her family. When hiking, no one wants to lug a purse along when hiking but it’s so nice to have the essentials you need like a water bottle, sunscreen, a few snacks and of course, the car keys.
Carol came up with a brilliant idea. She took some old jeans that she was no longer wearing and turned them into a fabulous backpack! On the outside there’s a pocket handy for holding a water bottle. I love the embroidery work she did on the pocket. She shares her resource for this embroidery pattern in her detailed tutorial.
Carol thought of everything when designing her backpack. She included an inside pocket perfect for stashing away some cash or a credit card. There’s even a key leash so she doesn’t have to go fishing for her car keys once she’s done hiking.
You’ll find Carol’s excellent tutorial for making your own backpack at her blog here: Make a Denim Backpack From Recycled Jeans
Oh wow……3 granddaughters in college and high school. Guess what they’ll be using! Thanks for this one, Susan :-).
And the great granddaughter got the little denim bib with a ruffle around it.
